Final: Marlins 4, Phillies 3

Miami, FL–The Marlins walked off the Phillies in 11 innings tonight, with Dee Gordon delivering the winning run after contributing to Miami's 10th-inning comeback in which Carlos Ruiz's errant throw to third allowed the home team to tie the game 3-3 before Gordon's double beat the Phillies (57-95).
The Marlins (65-87) drew first blood in an all-but-empty Marlins Park in the second, with runners on first and third with none out. Phils starter David Buchanan induced a double play off the bat of catcher J.T. Realmuto, but Marcell Ozuna came home to give the Marlins a 1-0 lead.
The lead was extended in the fourth when Justin Bour homered for the Marlins off Buchanan, who went five solid innings and gave up seven hits.
Marlins starter Adam Conley started the game off by throwing a perfecto through four frames, but it was broken up with Darin Ruf's single to lead off the fifth.
The Phillies scored their own run on a double play when Carlos Ruiz's rally-killing GIDP with the bases loaded brought Ruf home to make it a 2-1 game.
Adam Loewen came in to take over the bottom of the sixth for Buchanan, combining with Jeanmar Gomez to keep the Marlins scoreless through the sixth and seventh.
The Phillies tied it up when Erik Kratz came thundering down the line with all the force of turkey bacon.
In the top of the eighth inning, Kratz, pinch hitting for the Phillies, doubled, advanced to third, and tied the game between the Phillies and the Marlins at 2-2 on a wild pitch. Originally called out at the plate, Kratz was counted safe after replay showed that Fish reliever Mike Dunn failed to tag the runner out.
The Marlins responded in the bottom of the frame when Donovan Solano reached on a two-out error by Andres Blanco and advanced to second. But after Luis Garcia intentionally walked Christian Yelich, Justin Bour's groundout ended the threat.
Miami got Casey McGehee on board in the bottom of the ninth after McGehee roped a single off reliever Hector Neris, but pinch runner Cole Gillespie was caught stealing by Chooch at second. Realmuto singled with two outs, but Miguel Rojas struck out to send the game to extras.
Kyle Barraclough (pronounced "bear claw") took the mound in the tenth for the Marlins. After Brian Bogusevic reached on a force out and stole second with two outs, Freddy Galvis drove him home with an RBI single (and was promptly thrown out at second to end the half-inning.)
Ken Giles, coming in to close, allowed a leadoff single to Ichiro to begin the Marlins' last chance. Dee Gordon bunted for a hit to put runners on first and second with no outs. Donovan Solano's sacrifice would have provided the first out of the inning–but Carlos Ruiz threw the ball away, allowing Ichiro to score and keeping runners on first and second and tying the game 3-3, notching Giles a blown save.
The Marlins challenged the out call at second base on a grounder by Justin Bour; it was ruled, on a close play, that Donovan Solano had been called out at second for the second out, and after review, the call was upheld. Ozuna struck out swinging to send the game to the 11th.
Brian Ellington relieved Barraclough for the Marlins in the 11th, pitching a 1-2-3 inning.
Jerome Williams became the sixth Phillies reliever of the night in the bottom of the frame. He retired the first two Marlins, but Miguel Rojas singled to right with two gone. Ichiro followed that with a walk to build a serious Miami threat. Dee Gordon doubled in Rojas to win the game for the Marlins, who have split the first two games of the series with the Phillies.
The rubber match is tomorrow at 7:10 with Alec Asher taking on ex-Phils farmhand Jarred Cosart, who starts for the Marlins in his third start back from a DL stint for vertigo.
