Phillies starter Aaron Nola may be shut down after next start

One of the bright spots of the 2015 Phillies season has been young starter Aaron Nola.  Drafted in the first round of the 2014 draft, Nola's rise to the big leagues has been very quick.  So quick, in fact, that Nola has been a very busy pitcher in 2015.  Beginning the season in class AA and passing quickly through joining the Phillies in July, Nola is pitching much further into a season than ever before.  Thus, the Phillies may call it a season soon.

The "Phillies Notes" section at the bottom of Ryan Lawrence's piece today in the Daily News explained that the end could be near for Nola:

Aaron Nola is tentatively scheduled to start Tuesday in Miami, but could be shut down for the season following that game. Nola, in his first season as a pro, has pitched 175 innings between the minor and major leagues. The Phillies' front office has said it planned to keep him in the range of 180 to 190 innings this year

Nola is not the only rotation change.

Adam Morgan was originally scheduled to start tonight against the Washington Nationals, but Alec Asher will pitch instead.   Morgan will pitch on Friday, which gives him a little bit more rest.  Morgan, too, has pitched close to that innings limit.  Morgan is up to 146 and two-thirds innings pitched in 2015 over Lehigh Valley and the big leagues.
