The Eagles cut Mostert as the team had to trim down their roster to 53 players by Saturday.
The former Purdue University running back had a strong preseason. He rushed for 157 yards on 39 carries this preseason with Philadelphia. Also, he returned five kickoffs for a total of 162 yards, including a 67-yard return on the opening kickoff in week three of the preseason against the Green Bay Packers.
The Eagles were pleased to hear that Mostert cleared waivers.
