Cozens, Astudillo, Pullin named to FSL All-Star Team; Greg Legg nabs Manager of the Year

The minor league awards keep coming for the Phillies as the Advanced 'A' Florida State League announced their end of the year awards on Friday afternoon. Four members of the Clearwater Threshers got honored with Dylan Cozens, Willians Astudillo and Andrew Pullin all being named to the 2015 Florida State League All-Star Team and manager Greg Legg taking home the Manager of the Year award.

Skipper Greg Legg has been with the Phillies organization for 34 years now and led the Threshers to the 1st half north division championship, clinching a playoff spot for the first time since 2007, when they won the FSL title. Legg was drafted by the Phillies in 1982 and managed the Clearwater team in 2005 and 2006 as well. He joins fellow Phils minor league skipper Dusty Wathan with Double-A in earning Manager of the Year honors. 

Promoted to Double-A Reading on August 28th, Dylan Cozens spent 96 games as a member of the Threshers this sseason. He hit .282 with 22 doubles, five triples, five homers, 52 runs scored, 46 RBI's and 18 steals. The Phillies drafted Cozens in the second round of the 2012 draft. Currently in Double-A, Cozens is hitting .360 (9-for-25) in seven games with three home runs and nine RBI's. 

23-year-old catcher Willians Astudillo leads the FSL with a .319 average. According to the press release, the right-handed bat has 121 hits and just 10 strikeouts in 105 games, making him the toughest hitter to strike out in all of affiliated baseball, including the Majors. Signed as an amateur free agent in 2008, Astudillo's TPA/SO Ratio (total plate appearances per strikeout) is 41.20. The next closest ratio in the FSL is 12.02.

Former 2012 fifth round pick Andrew Pullin leads the FSL with 14 homers and has a team-high 73 RBI's. Pullin also ranks fourth in the Florida State League with 192 total bases. Although he's hitting just .258 this season, he's hitting .314 (11-for-35) with eight RBI's over his last 10 games.
