The Philadelphia Eagles roster now has 75 players, as mandated by the NFL.
Earlier this afternoon, the Eagles released running back Kevin Monangai.
The 22-year-old rookie out of out of Villanova rushed for 126 yards on 21 carries over the course of three preseason games this year. His best game came in week 2 of the preseason against the Baltimore Ravens, when he rushed for 87 yards on 10 carries.
Additionally, the team officially waived inside linebacker Emmanuel Acho and placed JaCorey Shepherd on the injured reserve.
Acho suffered a hand injury which requires surgery.
Shepherd tore his ACL earlier this year during training camp.
Monangai's release shouldn't be a huge surprise, the Eagles are already loaded at the running back position.
If the Eagles decide to keep a fourth running back, it is going to be between Kenjon Barner and Raheem Mostert.
