With rosters expanding today, the Phillies made three minor additions to their big league club. Right-handers Dalier Hinojosa and Colton Murray along with catcher Erik Kratz will head to New York to join the Phillies as they continue their series against the Mets.
Hinojisa, 29, had a short stint with the Phillies this year already. He allowed no runs in five innings, spanning across three games, while striking out five. Claimed off of waivers from the Red Sox in the middle of July, Hinojosa has a combined 3-2 record to go along with a 3.76 ERA and 1.39 WHIP in 29 games this season between Boston and the Phillies organizations.
Murray, 25, was a 13th round pick of the Phillies from 2011. Over his last 10 games, spanning 15 2/3 innings, Murray has allowed just one run, good for a 0.57 ERA. Overall this season between Double-A Reading and Triple-A Lehigh Valley, Murray is 8-3 with a 2.67 ERA. In 42 innings at the Triple-A level, he's sporting a 2.79 ERA. Murray has not appeared in a Major League game before.
Lastly, the Phillies will recall catcher Erik Kratz from the Ironpigs. Part of the Phillies organization from 2011-2013, Kratz was dealt to Toronto for right-hander Brad Lincoln. Since then, Kratz has seen time with the Royals, Red Sox and Mariners organizations. Since joining the Phillies on a minor league contract, Kratz is hitting .312 (24-for-77) with eight doubles, three homers and 15 RBI's. He hit .230 over his three seasons with the Phillies.
Meanwhile in Lehigh Valley, outfielder Brian Bogusevic was named an International League postseason All-Star. Bogusevic is batting .297 with 12 home runs and 57 runs batted in for the Iron Pigs. Bogusevic represented Canada in the 2015 Pan Am games this July.
While the September call-ups may seem underwhelming, let's not forget that the Phillies have already added Jerad Eickhoff, Alec Asher, Aaron Altherr and Darnell Sweeney over the past few weeks.
