Madden NFL 16: Eagles Starting Roster Ratings

Madden NFL 16 hit stores yesterday, and the new-look Philadelphia Eagles have an overall team rating of 84.

According to Madden 16, the Eagles should have a solid offensive line anchored by left-tackle Jason Peters (96 overall), right-tackle Lane Johnson (88 overall) and center Jason Kelce (87 overall). Starting guards Allen Barbre (77 overall) and Andrew Gardner (74 overall) have respectable ratings.

Leading the offensive charge is quarterback starting quarterback Sam Bradford (79 overall) who has a decent rating as he works his way back from an ACL tear in his left-knee. Madden 16 projects Mark Sanchez (76 overall) as the best backup quarterback in the league, alongside Tennessee Titans quarterback Zach Mettenberger (76 overall). Lastly, Madden 16 closely rates Matt Barkley (69 overall) and Tim Tebow (68 overall).

In the backfield for the Eagles is the trio of DeMarco Murray (94 overall), Ryan Matthews (84 overall) and Darren Sproles (82 overall).

The game expects young wide receivers Josh Huff (72 overall) and Nelson Agholor (75 overall) to start on the outside.  Jordan Matthews (81 overall) plays most of his snaps in the slot in Madden. The Eagles have quality depth at wide receiver with Riley Cooper (76 overall) and Miles Austin (78 overall).

Brent Celek (85 overall) and Zach Ertz (84 overall) pack a good 1-2-punch at the tight end position.

As for the defense, the only remaining starters in the secondary from last season's team is  free safety Malcolm Jenkins (85 overall). Free agent acquisitions Byron Maxwell (84 overall) and Walter Thurmond (73 overall) were brought in the fix some of the problems in the defensive backfield. Nolan Carroll (74 overall) and second-round pick Eric Rowe (72 overall) complete the rest of the Eagles starting secondary unit.

Lastly, Madden 16 predicts the Eagles to have a formidable front-seven.

The defensive line is led by Fletcher Cox (92 overall), Cedric Thornton (81 overall) and Bennie Logan (80 overall). Rotational defensive end Vinny Curry (81 overall) also has a good rating.

The Eagles have a plethora of quality linebackers. At inside linebacker, the Eagles have the three headed monster of Kiko Alonso (87 overall), Mychal Kendricks (86 overall) and DeMeco Ryans (82 overall).  On the edges, the Eagles have Connor Barwin (87 overall) at left-outside linebacker and Brandon Graham (86 overall) at the right-outside linebacker spot.

Madden 16 calculates the Eagles as the second-best team in the NFC East division, ahead of the New York Giants (77 overall) and Washington Redskins (75 overall), and right behind the Dallas Cowboys (86 overall).
