Well. That came out of nowhere.
The Philadelphia Eagles have confirmed that they signed inside linebacker Mychal Kendricks to a four-year contract extension, tying Kendricks to the Eagles until 2019.
Kendricks was so excited to sign the contract, he forgot to take off his helmet:

According to multiple reports, the deal is worth $30 million, with $16 million guaranteed.
This is a complete 180 turnaround from the reports that the Eagles were aggressively shopping Kendricks. The Eagles were reportedly looking to have DeMeco Ryans start alongside Kiko Alonso, and have Jordan Hicks as the eventual replacement for Ryans.
But Kendricks is here to stay, giving the Eagles a formidable inside linebacking group of Kendricks and Kiko Alonso (assuming he can stay healthy), for years to come.
