Chip Kelly announced during today's pre-practice press conference that quarterback Sam Bradford will sit in Sunday's preseason opener against the Indianapolis Colts.
Coach Kelly: Sam Bradford will not play on Sunday. Mark Sanchez will start.

Mark Sanchez will get the start followed by a healthy dose of Matt Barkley and Tim Tebow, who are both competing for the third quarterback job. Kelly noted that the decision was his and that Bradford is "disappointed" with the decision, but assured that the 27-year-old will start against the Baltimore Ravens on Aug. 22.
Kelly said it was his call. Sam wasn't happy about it. Nothing wrong with health. Just wants to be safe. Mark Sanchez will start.

According to Kelly, Zach Ertz will sit out the entire preseason due to "core muscle" injury, but should be good to go for Week 1 at Atlanta.
Zach Ertz is out for a few weeks with a core injury. Won't play in preseason. Should be ready for Week 1

The tight end was shaken up during Tuesday and Wednesday's practices and didn't participate in Thursday's drills as a result.
Kelly also confirmed that DeMarco Murray's absence from practice has been the coach's decision and that the running back will participate in practice today.
Chip said his decision to keep DeMarco's load light. No injury. Noted all the carries last year. Talked about sports science merits.

This news should erase any concern surrounding Murray.
