Clearwater Threshers and Tampa Yankees postponed over pink and blue circus tent

Friday night's scheduled matchup between the Tampa Yankees and the Clearwater Threshers was postponed for a very strange reason.  It was not postponed because of all the rain the Tampa Bay area has received over the last couple of weeks.   No, there was no power outage at a ballpark.  Instead, the teams could not play due to Circus Tent issues.  Seriously.

Threshers play-by-play announcer Kirsten Karbach tweeted this:

You see, a batter would have trouble seeing the ball.  Should some of the pitches be wild, it could pose an injury risk to batters.

The event is Cirque du Solei being held at the Amalie Arena in Tampa.   The Threshers' website lists "venue" as the reason for the postponement and the official Threshers account tweeted that the two teams would make up the game in a double-header on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.   No word on how the team will get around the Circus lights or if the tent has been removed.
