Billingsley seeks first win of season as he reunites with former club

Coming off of Tuesday morning's 10-7 defeat to former teammate Jimmy Rollins and the Los Angeles Dodgers (47-37), the Philadelphia Phillies (28-57) will seek redemption this evening as they send right hander Chad Billingsley to the mound against his former club.

Starting Pitching Matchup:

Philadelphia Phillies (28-57) Los Angeles Dodgers (47-37)
RHP Chad Billingsley LHP Brett Anderson
(0-2, 7.71 ERA) (5-4, 3.00 ERA)

Billingsley, 30, was drafted 24th overall in the 2003 amateur draft by the Dodgers. He went 81-63 with a 3.72 ERA over eight seasons from 2006 to 2013.

Over six career postseason appearances as a Dodger, three of which were against the Phillies in the second and fifth games of the 2008 NLCS, and the third game of the 2009 NLCS, Billingsley went 1-2 with a 6.88 ERA over 17.0 innings.

In four starts this season, the right hander is 0-2 with a 7.71 ERA. Billingsley has allowed at least five earned runs and eight hits in three of his four outings. In addition, opposing batters are hitting .363/.398/.516 against the 2009 National League All-Star.

Opposing Billingsley will be 27-year-old left-hander Brett Anderson, who has allowed only five earned runs over his last four starts, 28.0 innings, to yield a 1.61 ERA.

Anderson, who won the third game of the 2012 ALDS with the Oakland A's by throwing six shutout innings, has never faced the Phillies. Utility infielder Andres Blanco and outfielder Ben Revere are a combined 2-7 in their careers against him, however.
