Earlier today, Jon Paul Morosi of Fox Sports reported that the Phillies and Texas Rangers were engaging in dialogue over a potential Cole Hamels trade. It did not take very long before someone seemed to throw cold water on the idea. A Rangers beat writer is now reporting that there does not appear to be a deal brewing.
MLB.com's TR Sullivan reports:
Rangers source says Cole Hamels trade is "not on the board."

Phillies fans may remember that Sullivan was the reporter who broke the news that Cliff Lee would sign with the Phillies.
Hamels is scheduled to start tomorrow afternoon against the New York Yankees. Even if the Rangers do not consumate a deal with the Phillies, plenty of other teams would be interested. Some reports have had the Rangers, Yankees, Cardinals, and other teams interested in Hamels' services.
