There has been plenty of news coming out of the Phillies minor league teams this past week. Aaron Nola was promoted to Triple-A, Matt Imhof returned to the mound, J.P. Crawford is settling in with Reading and now another top prospect has been promoted. Carlos Tocci, the Phillies number eight ranked prospect, announced via Twitter late Monday night that he had been promoted to Clearwater, the Phillies Advanced 'A' affiliate.

Just 19 years old out of Venezuela, Tocci departs Lakewood ranked fourth best in the South Atlantic League in hitting with a .321 average. He falls in at seventh in OBP (.394) and 13th in OPS (.828). Tocci had 14 doubles to go along with two triples, two home runs and 25 RBI's.
He's been a very solid part of the Blueclaws lineup, providing plenty of extra-base hit pop off the bat. He played two games in the Blueclaws three-game series this past weekend against Hagerstown and went 3-for-9 with a run scored and two strikeouts. Just a few days ago, on June 11th against Lexington, Tocci went 3-for-5 with a home run, RBI, a walk and a run scored.
Tocci joins fellow top prospects Aaron Brown (No. 9) and Matt Imhof (No.10) in Clearwater.
