We heard that it was coming soon, but finally it is official: the Phillies top pitching prospect is moving up the minor league ranks. After dominating the AA Eastern League, Aaron Nola gave the Phillies little choice but to move him up.
The Iron Pigs official Twitter announced the move:
We hope you're sitting. RHP Aaron Nola has been promoted to the IronPigs!

Whatever the hat size, AAA Lehigh Valley could really use some excitement; the Iron Pigs are very light on prospects.
At AA Reading, Nola went 7-3 with a 1.88 earned run average. In other words, there was little more Nola could do at AA. So, the 22 year-old heads to AAA, where he will face some more established hitters, including some who have experience at the Major League level already and will present a new challenge.
