Moscot earns second career start as Reds look for sweep against Phillies

Seeking to avoid being swept for the fourth time this season, the Philadelphia Phillies (22-38) will send Jerome Williams to the mound in a series finale matinee against right handed rookie Jon Moscot and the Cincinnati Reds (26-31).

With a .367 overall winning percentage, the Phillies are currently the worst team in baseball behind the Milwaukee Brewers (.373) and the Oakland Athletics (.383). Their pitching staff has allowed the second-most runs this season (277), seconded to the Walt Weiss-managed Colorado Rockies (284). Likewise, the Phillies' offense has been performing just as poorly, as they have scored the fewest runs (192). That averages out to 3.2 runs per game scored on offense, and 4.6 runs per game allowed by their pitching staff.

The Phillies are 7-22 on the road this season, and are 4-5 overall on Wednesday-played games.

Over Jerome Williams' last four starts, he is (0-2) with a 7.08 ERA over 20.1 innings pitched. Additionally, the right hander has allowed at least one home run in all but three of his 12 starts this season.

Williams has a career 8-9 record with a 4.71 ERA in the month of June.
