With Tommy Joseph on the mend from yet another concussion and the Phillies struggling in terms of catching depth, perhaps some good news has come from the minor league system for back stops.
Catcher Gabriel Lino has been promoted to the IronPigs from Reading for Logan Moore.

Gabriel Lino, acquired from the Orioles along with Kyle Simon in exchange for Jim Thome in 2012, has spent the year with Double-A Reading, hitting .266 with nine doubles, three homers and 13 RBI's in 109 at bats. What has really compelled the Phillies to promote him is his defense. Last season, Lino threw out 42 percent of base stealers (30 out of 71) and this year so far for Reading, he's thrown out 15 of 31, good for a 48 percent mark.
Over his last 10 games with Reading, Lino, 22, is hitting .333 with four runs scored, a homer, seven RBI's, three walks and three strikeouts. He spoke to Lehigh Valley Live about his new comfort level at the plate.
"I feel good with my hitting now," Lino said. "I worked a couple weeks ago, (minor league hitting coordinator Andy) Tracy told me to move (up in the box). I can see the ball better."
Having played just 32 games above Single-A ball in his career, Lino will now have a chance to prove to the Phillies organization that he is their new catcher of the future.
