The Sixers have been pretty busy re-branding themselves in recent days.   Aside from overhauling the roster, the new Sixers ownership changed the uniforms once again, introduced a new mascot, and now even more is in the works.   According to a report, the Sixers logo will change.

Paul Lukas of Uniwatch writes:

No word as to whether a not a tank will be in the logo, although as CSN Philly's John Gonzalez reports, any changes made will be 'pretty subtle', and that the current color scheme will remain as is.

In 2009, the Sixers gave up on their gold logo begun in 1997 and returned to the familiar basketball with "76ers" and stars.   The current logo has its origins with the beginning of the team in Philadelphia in 1963; the "76" and stars were part of the first design.  In 1977 the basketball and "ers" were added to the design.  Check out the history of Sixers logos here.
