The Phillies have not sold many tickets so far this, even registering their lowest-ever attendance for a regular season game at Citizens Bank Park on April 10. The empty seats are an embarrassment, but the team also cannot sell $11 beers and $6 hot dogs if fans do not show up. So, the team is turning to a new approach: half-price tickets on Groupon.
The deal is posted here. The regularly $17 tickets down are likely the cheapest in the park, but would cost you less than standing room, if you wish to simply stay down below and hang out at one of the ledges with some food and drink. The ballpark is still a good time, even if you will be seeing many of the same players you have seen every year since 2004.
The deal runs for another 13 hours as of the posting of this piece, or when the clock strikes midnight April 15.
