Sixers Get Run Out of the Garden as They Fall to the Celtics: Game Recap 3/17

There was nothing much to see in tonight’s 108-89 road loss to the Celtics. The C’s sustained a healthy double-digit cushion for the most part of the game. The simple fact is they didn’t miss shots, and the Sixers missed a lot.

They were just as good on the defensive end as well holding the Sixers to just 34 points at the half. Nerlens Noel managed to have a nice game and put up 18 points and 7 boards. One thing I keep seeing out of Nerlens is his ability to finish down low. He seems to relish the opportunity to back a defender down and then pour in his barely arcing hook shot. That is something I like to see out the young guy as he will have to develop multiple ways to score the ball down low as he will be going up against premiere post players such as Anthony Davis and Boogie Cousins.

Noel’s counterpart last night, Tyler Zeller, had an even better night than Nerlens. He matched a career high in points in with 26 and pulled down 5 rebounds. He and Avery Bradley were the driving force behind the Celtics big win as they’ll look to make a late run at a playoff spot.

Last night was also important for the Sixers too in terms of draft picks. With a win last night they could’ve built the gap between Miami and Boston which would’ve forced Miami out of the top 10. Obviously that didn’t happen, but there are still games left to be played to try and net the most possible picks for the upcoming draft.

Tonight the Sixers will have a tough game ahead as they take on the dynamic duo of Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe and their Detroit Pistons. Tip-off is slated for 7 o'clock tonight at WFC.
