Though the Eagles just agreed to a three-year contract with oft-injured running back Ryan Mathews, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, that hasn't stopped the team from pursuing DeMarco Murray.
Landing Ryan Mathews does not end Philadelphia's pursuit of Dallas free-agent RB DeMarco Murray. Hardly.

Yesterday, ESPN's Adam Caplan reported that there was mutual interest between the two sides, but once news surfaced of the Ryan Mathews signing, it seemed the Eagles and Murray wouldn't be a fit. That doesn't seem to be the case. Murray led the league in rushing last season with 1,845 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. If anything, the Eagles interest in the 27-year-old could make the Cowboys up their ante for Murray, so that could be an interesting situation to watch as well.
Keep in mind though, Sam Bradford and DeMarco Murray were roommates in college, so with all of the baffling moves that have been made, not much would surprise Eagles fans if the team ended up signing Murray even with Mathews, Sproles and Polk on the roster.
Update: Here's the latest news from Chris Mortensen…
DeMarco Murray renewed Eagles' interest w personal call to Chip Kelly; not just spread offense ran at Oklahoma; Sam Bradford's roommate, too

Mortensen added in a later tweet that the clear obstacle with the Eagles and Murray would be about money as Chip Kelly isn't going to overpay anyone.
In his introductory presser, Sam Bradford admitted he is trying to recruit former teammate from college, DeMarco Murray.
Bradford said he is "absolutely" trying to recruit college teammate and roommate DeMarco Murray to the Eagles.

Another update comes from Pro Football Talk, saying a team talking to Murray believes he will return to Dallas.
At least one of the teams pursuing DeMarco Murray believes he will be staying in Dallas.

Ed Werder tweets the Murray sweepstakes is down to three teams.

Ladies and gentleman, this could really happen. The latest from Adam Schefter…
