It's been a bit of a slow week for the Flyers of Tomorrow, as one prospect sat for a suspension, and just one game was played in the week between both teams in the Flyers' pipeline. Check out how future Flyers stars fared after the jump.
Juniors:
Travis Sanheim and Radel Fazleev each added a point in one game this week, as their Calgary Hitmen took down Medicine Hat, 4-1. Sanheim, along with his brother Taylor, assisted on a Connor Rankin goal, while Fazleev's 17th of the season stood as the game-winner.
Samuel Morin was inactive this week, serving a two-game suspension for a check from behind in last Saturday's win over Saint John. Unfortunately for Morin, he was unable to participate in his Rimouski Oceanic's 7-0 rout of Acadie-Bathurst on Thursday.
Tyrell Goulbourne also added an assist in one game, as his Kelowna Rockets outclassed Kamloops 11-4.
Nicolas Aubé-Kubel's Val-d'Or Foreurs were idle this week, and will return this weekend for a slate of two games against Blainville-Boisbriand and Quebec.
American League:
In one game this week, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms lost 4-3 to Binghamton in overtime. Zack Stortini, Petr Staka and Jason Akeson each scored, while Akeson and Nick Cousins each added two assists. Anthony Stolarz was left hanging all game, having made 40 saves on 44 shots.
Of note, Akeson continued a 10-game points streak in the loss to the Senators — becoming the fourth AHLer this season to record points in 10 consecutive games.
The Phantoms (24-22-5-1) play twice at PPL Center this weekend — facing Providence on Friday (a 5-1 loss) and Hartford on Saturday. They still sit in third place in the East Division with 54 points — eight points behind second-place Wilkes-Barre/Scranton — and just four points behind the fourth-place Senators.
ECHL:
The Reading Royals were idle all week, and play twice this weekend — facing Kalamazoo on Friday (a 4-1 loss), and Cincinnati on Saturday.
With a 34-14-2-1 record and 71 points, the Royals still hold a three-point lead over Florida for first place in the East Division, and sit just a point behind Fort Wayne for first in the Eastern Conference.
