In this week's Future Flyers Report, we have two prospects winning in a shootout, a slow Phantoms week and a franchise record for the Royals. Check out how the Flyers of Tomorrow have fared after the jump.
Juniors:
Nicolas Aubé-Kubel scored twice and added an assist in the Val-d'or Foreurs' 5-2 win over Blainville-Boisbriand on Thursday — their lone game of the week.
In one game this week, Travis Sanheim recorded a goal and an assist as his Calgary Hitmen beat Prince George 4-3 in a shootout. Both Sanheim and Radel Fazleev participated in the shootout, but neither scored.
Samuel Morin's Rimouski Océanic were idle this week, and will return for two games this weekend.
American League:
The Lehigh Valley Phantoms were idle all week as well, and will return for a three-game slate this weekend against Binghamton (a 3-2 loss), Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Springfield. Monday's Future Flyers report will break down how they did this weekend.
The Phantoms (28-18-2-3, 49 points) still sit in third place in the East Division, but they sit farther and farther from Hershey and Wilkes-Barre — as the Baby Pens sit 11 points ahead of them, and the Bears remain 14 points ahead.
ECHL:
In one game this week, the Reading Royals set a franchise record for longest winning streak, at 12 games. They shut Cincinnati out 5-0, with Sean Wiles, Jordan Heywood, David Marshall, Adam Hughesman and Pat Mullane providing the offense. Connor Knapp saved all 22 pucks he faced.
After 12 games, the streak snapped on Friday, as the Royals fell 3-2 in overtime to Wheeling.
The Royals (33-13-2-1) sit one point ahead of Florida for first place in the East Division with 69 points, and also hold first place in the Eastern Conference. If not for the Allen Americans' 70 points, they'd have the highest point total in the ECHL.
