With some of the changes to the Phillies roster in the last week, the IronPigs are looking like a very different team too. Their rotation is coming into view now, as is their bullpen. How this roster looks is always challenging, because you have to also guess how the big league roster will look first. Here's our latest look.
- The Rotation- I have Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez being sent back down here to get stretched out as a starter, and being joined by Adam Morgan and Joely Rodriguez from the 40 man. Severino Gonzalez, a prospect for whom opinions vary, is likely to start here. I would bet on Sean O'Sullivan being the fifth starter, and P.J. Walters getting "DL'ed" to stick around. Jon Pettibone will probably be here, once he's healthy.
- Bullpen- Cesar Jimenez, assuming he accepts his assignment to keep his money, goes here. Ethan Martin goes here too. Luis Garcia and Hector Neris are likely to be back here too. If Phillippe Aumont is going anywhere, it's here, and that leaves two spots. I have Jeanmar Gomez and Tyler Knigge getting the last two spots here, edging out Paul Clemens.
- Line-Up- I'm putting my money still on six weeks of Maikel Franco here, manning an infield spot. Andres Blanco, Russ Canzler, and Jim Murphy also are likely to get early starting slots. I have Cameron Rupp getting the starts behind the plate if he's sent down, and Koyie Hill if it's the other way around. I have Kelly Dugan, Aaron Altherr, and Cameron Perkins getting the outfield spots.
- Bench- I have Chase d'Arnaud and Tyler Greene both getting a lot of playing time here. I think John Hester sticks as the back-up behind the plate too. Two of Tyler Henson, Xavier Paul, and Darin Mastroianni making the team (with the other being miraculously hurt at the end of camp, until Franco goes up or someone else is hurt). We'll say Henson goes to the DL.
