Not quite tanking, but sitting in “basketball purgatory”.

- Indiana (16-30)

- New Orleans (24-21)
TANK observations of the week:
- The Boston Celtics went out to the West Coast and turned into a pretty decent team over the past week. They gave the Clippers a rough finish, then won three out of four games over five nights. They defeated Portland on an Evan Turner three-pointer, Denver with some clutch shooting down the stretch from Avery Bradley, and Utah on the back end of a back-to-back. Their only loss? To Golden State, whom hasn’t lost at home since November 11.
- Detroit’s hopes of climbing back towards the playoffs took a hit when Brandon Jennings tore his Achilles tendon. Now, they likely are back in it to tank. Maybe they can re-acquire Josh Smith.
- Now, the Lakers can rest Kobe Bryant without any guilt or hearing any “tanking” complaints. Bryant is out for the season with a shoulder injury.
TANK games to look out for this week:
- Wednesday: Boston at Minnesota
- Friday: Minnesota at PHILADELPHIA
- Saturday: Sacramento at Indiana
