Chris Polian, Jacksonville Jaguars' director of pro personnel, has reportedly interviewed for the second time with the Eagles for their personnel executive opening.
Polian has been in his current position with the Jaguars since May of 2013, after he and his father, team president Bill Polian, were fired by Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay following the 2011 season. Chris served as the vice president and general manager of the Colts from 2009 to 2011, serving in other roles within the organization prior. In 2012, Polian served as an executive scout with the Atlanta Falcons.
The disappointing 2-14, 2011 season without star quarterback Peyton Manning motivated the Colts for a change in culture within the front office and ultimately their quarterback, which is the reasoning behind Polian's firing and Indianapolis' drafting of Andrew Luck that offseason.
According to The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane, Polian was one of the first candidates to interview for the vacancy, and is thought to be the only known candidate to land a second interview with coach Chip Kelly.
McLane further explains that the Eagles were ready to meet with the Texans' Brian Gaine for a second interview, however his promotion to director of player personnel in Houston significantly lessened his interest to come to Philadelphia under Kelly.
