Saric Earns FIBA European Young Player of the Year Award

If the Sixers future still seems bleak to you, one bright spot is encouraging. Dario Saric, acquired by the Sixers from the Magic on draft day, was named the FIBA European Young Player of the Year. This is the second straight year thar Saric has earned this honor.

In addition to this award, Saric has collected a variety of accolades over the years, including MVP awards in the Nike International Junior Tournament in 2011, FIBA Under-16 (2010) & Under-18 (2012) Championships, Croatian League Finals (2013), Adriatic League (2014) and Adriatic League Finals (2014). Saric also won MVP honors for the month of November this season.

In just over 24 minutes per game in the Turkish League this season, Saric is averaging 10 points, 5.9 rebounds 2.7 assists over 13 games. According to Sixers.com, that equates to 15.4 points, 9.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists per 36 minutes. He was the starting center for the European team at the Turkish All-Star game this past Sunday as well.

Here are some of Saric's highlights from a recent performance against Real Madrid, when he scored 11 points, dished out eight assists to go along with five rebounds, two steals and one block.
