Sixers to Sign D-League’s Larry Drew II to Ten-Day Contract

According to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports, the Philadelphia 76ers will sign guard Larry Drew II, from the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA D-League, to a ten-day contract. Drew II, 24, was a member of the 2009 North Carolina Tar Heels' National Championship team. Transferring to UCLA for the 2012-2013 season, he set the university's single-season record for assists with 256, 7.3 per game.

Drew II is averaging 11.0 points per game this season, along with 10.1 assists. He was named the D-League Player of the Week in late-December, where he averaged 17.5 points and 15 assists per game. He set the D-League record, according to Spears, for assists in a game with 23.

The Encino, California-native was not drafted in the 2013 NBA Draft, however he spent the last two training camps with the Miami Heat. The Sioux Falls Skyforce are affiliated directly with the Heat.
