Phillies Taking Leftover Roy Halladay Bobbleheads To Clearwater To Give Them Away

  RoyHalladay

Former Phillies and Blue Jays pitcher Roy Halladay still lives in the Dunedin area.  It is Dunedin, just up the road from Clearwater, Florida, where the Toronto Blue Jays train.  So, it would be perfect for the Phillies to honor Halladay when the two meet, right?  That does not appear to be what they are doing.

The giveaway was already on the calendar, but Phillies announced the promotion today on Twitter:

I was really excited at the idea, until I realized that this is the same bobblehead that the Phillies gave away in August:

They are just left over.

The Phillies attendance the night that the Roy Halladay promotion took place on August 8 was 32,307, or 74% of Citizen Bank Park's capacity.  This means that the Phillies likely had more than 10,000 Halladay bobbleheads left over.    Is this really worth taking up all that space on the Phillies' truck to Florida?  Gotta get rid of them somehow…
