Cowboys Fan Governor Chris Christie: Eagles Fans “The Worst In America”

In politics, a candidate for office usually tries to play both sides.  However, Presidential hopeful Chris Christie has been very public about his Dallas Cowboys fandom.  How the Newark, New Jersey native became a Cowboys fan instead of his local New York Giants is unknown.  Despite being governor of the state that includes South Jersey, home to many Eagles fans, Christie did not hesitate to speak ill of his constituents.

According to the New York Times' Michael Barbaro, Governor Christie has a very low opinion of Philadelphia Eagles fans, based upon his experience in a suite with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones in Philadelphia:

…that matchup left a searing impression on Mr. Christie.  Eagles fans, many of whom can be found in the southern part of Mr. Christie's state, raged against the governor during the game, shouting unprintable words at him in the owner's box.

"These Philadelphia fans, they are the worst in America," Mr. Christie was overheard saying recently.

Christie also indicated that at New York Giants games against the Cowboys that the Giants fans "did't give me a hard time".

Meanwhile, Christie's trip to Dallas raised some ethics concerns with some, since the governor partially oversees the Port Authority, which does business with Jones.   Should Christie run for president, it may be his stances on football that keeps him from victory.
