Dodgers Shortstop Jimmy Rollins: Cole Hamels Talked About “How Lovely It Would Be” If They Were Both In L.A.

The Phillies shipped their long-time shortstop Jimmy Rollins to the Los Angeles Dodgers over the winter meetings (plus all the time it took to complete the Matt Kemp trade).   As the offseason goes on, Phillies fans wait to see the fate of ace starting pitcher Cole Hamels, who is rumored to be traded prior to the Phillies breaking camp on February 19th.  Will Cole Hamels stay with the Phillies?

Whether Hamels stays or goes is rather unclear, but Hamels would love to be in Los Angeles, according to his former teammate Jimmy Rollins:

"I talked to Cole right before I got traded, and um, and he was excited for me.  He did talk about how lovely it would be if we both ended up in L.A. That would be one heck of a move right there, so… I know he's a big piece, but if they want to rebuild and get as much as they can from any team, I know it's hard to let go of their one or two prospects that the Phillies are asking for… I definitely feel he wants to be somewhere that he could win."

The Dodgers reportedly do not wish to trade their top prospects Joc Pederson, Julio Urias, and Corey Seager.
