Freddy Galvis returns after a stint in Triple-A following a clavicle injury suffered with the Ironpigs back in May. In 35 games this season for Lehigh Valley, Galvis slashed .267/.322/.452. He hit three homers, 14 doubles, a triple and drove in 15 runs. Before being sent down to AAA, Freddy hit just .048 (2-for-42) with the Phillies over 16 games. Galvis was signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Phillies back in 2006. He is hitting .211 (8-for-38) over his last ten games in Lehigh Valley.
Brignac had been quite a walk-off hero for the Phillies earlier this season, becoming a regular in the lineup when Cody Asche was on the mend in late May & early June. Since the return of Asche and the addition of Andres Blanco, Brignac's playing time had signifcantly decreased and an ankle injury sure didn't help. Since returning from the DL in July, he was 1-for-15, primarily as a pinch-hitter. Brignac, 28, was hitting .222/.300/.346 in 91 plate appearances with the Phillies.
