The Phillies made a move today. Darin Ruf, on the disabled list since March, has been activated from the disabled list. But, he will not be joining the major league team.
Stephen Gross from the Allentown Morning Call reports:
#Phillies Darin Ruf was reinstated from the DL and optioned to Triple-A #IronPigs

The Phillies were so happy with the offense that their current roster was providing that they felt there was absolutely no need to add Ruf to the mix and mess up the solid output that their current roster provides.
"With such incredible pinch-hitters like Reid Brignac and John Mayberry, there was just no room for a bat like Ruf's", said no one. "There was no possible way to fit Ruf on our major league roster."
John Mayberry, the other right-handed corner outfielder and first baseman, is hitting .138. However Mayberry must've impressed the Phillies with his .050 average in his last 20 at bats. Mayberry has one hit since April 4. He has appeared in 19 games since.
