RevisThe Eagles have been linked in reports to Darrelle Revis as the Buccaneers could release or trade him later today, but this isn't the first time he's been linked to Philadelphia.

Darrelle Revis is reportedly on the verge of being released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ahead of free agency today, and if that happens multiple reports indicate that the Eagles would be interested.

Moreover, this is not the first time that Howie Roseman and company have dipped their toes in the water exploring the option of bringing Revis Island to South Philadelphia.

Sources indicate that the Eagles first explored the option of trading for Revis last offseason, before the New York Jets dealt the 28-year old to Tampa Bay last year.

The Buccaneers are flirting with the idea of releasing Revis so that they're compensation to the Jets would become a fourth round pick instead of a third rounder that is contingent on him being on their roster this season.

In 2013, Revis had a down year while finishing with just two interceptions and 11 pass defenses.

Last offseason the Eagles bolstered the cornerback position by adding both Cary Williams and Bradley Fletcher in free agency, but with Williams' cap number ballooning to $6,416,666 this season, may be motivation enough for the front office to upgrade the position.

The New England Patriots are also reported to be in the mix if Revis in fact hits the open market later this afternoon.

Another name to keep an eye on at corner today is former Raven Corey Graham.

Like Brandon Boykin, Graham has the ability to either play the slot or outside corner position. He played under Chip Kelly at New Hampshire and is only 28 years old.

Regardless of whether the Eagles in fact break the bank for one of the bigger named cornerbacks or safeties on the market, they will have options at both position in their quest to upgrade the secondary on a defense that finished dead last against the pass last season.
