The Miguel Gonzalez News is Not Good (Now With Video)

UPDATE: A bit of video the Phillies Twitter page posted of MAG throwing.

Just a few days ago, I posted a piece outlining the Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez situation and where he may end up with the Phillies. The initial news regarding his ability was not very encouraging, but there was still some glimmer of hope that he was just in a bit of a funk following two off seasons. However, as the days continue to tick away and MAG makes more appearances for the team, the news is starting to get darker.

Both Chris Branch (of News Journal) and Stephen Gross (of Morning Call) reported that Gonzalez was throwing live batting practice to Marlon Byrd and Domonic Brown this morning. Just moments later, Branch tweeted the following:

As usual, we're probably looking way too far into these kinds of news breaks. Then again, we haven't really heard a single bit of good news regarding the Cuban pitcher's arm. Gross would go on to say that, based on what they've seen thus far, Gonzalez probably won't see the majors this season. If you were looking forward to the Phillies finding gold with MAG, it's time to focus elsewhere. Maybe. There's still a lot more Spring Training.
