Eagles Sign Wide Receiver Joe Anderson

Joe AndersonJoe Anderson was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles Friday after playing six games for the Chicago Bears in 2013, mostly on special teams.

The Eagles announced the signing Friday of former Chicago Bears wide receiver Joe Anderson. 

Anderson, 25, played in six games last season for the Bears before being placed on injured reserve with with an abdominal and groin injury. At the time of the injury, Anderson posted one special teams tackle.

The 6-foot-1 Anderson has appeared in nine games over two seasons in Chicago. He has four special teams stops over that span.

The Bears signed Anderson as an undrafted free agent in 2012 after his collegiate career at Louisianna Tech and Texas Southern, he spent the first 14 games of his NFL career in 2012 on the practice squad.

In three seasons at Texas Southern Anderson played in 34 games. He recorded 154 catches for 2010 yards and 13 touchdowns. Anderson also served as a return specialist, returning 16 kickoffs for 289 yards.
