Nick Foles had to wait seven weeks before being named the Eagles starting quarterback, but the third-year signal caller wasted no time leaving his mark on the Pro Bowl, earning Offensive MVP honors in just his first appearance.
Foles finished with 89 passing yards and a touchdown on seven-of-ten passing while being the only quarterback in the game not to throw an interception. The 26-year old finished with a 130.8 passer rating.
Protecting the football became Foles' biggest strength this season, finishing the year with 29 total touchdown passes while throwing just two interceptions.
"It's kind of surreal to be standing here with the MVP [trophy]," Foles said after the game, per the Eagles' official website. "All of the guys did a great job. I'm just glad to be here representing the Philadelphia Eagles and all of my teammates."
Drafted as the final player selected by Deion Sanders in the first fantasy draft conducted to choose the Pro Bowl teams in the game's history, Foles starred for 'Team Sanders' in spite of a dramatic 22-21 victory by "Team Rice", drafted by Jerry Rice which came on the heels of a DeMarco Murray touchdown run and two-point-conversion with under a minute to play.
The only other Eagles to earn Pro Bowl MVP honors are Hall of Famer Chuck Bednarik in 1954, Floyd Peters in 1967 (most valuable lineman), Hall of Famer Reggie White in 1986 and Randall Cunningham in 1989.
