LeSean McCoy won't have an opportunity to play in Super Bowl XLVIII, but he did make his prediction for the game Thursday.
Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy was a guest of Fast Money on CNBC to discuss the new Nike Super Bowl uniforms Thursday, but the hosts wouldn't let him off the air without making a prediction for the big game.
"I'll have to say probably Denver and either the 49ers or Saints," McCoy predicted. "I'll have to go with the 49ers [to win the whole thing].
"I'm a huge Frank Gore fan so I think they get it done"
McCoy's NFC East division champion Eagles were eliminated from the NFC playoffs by the Saints during the wild card round last Saturday night.
As for the uniforms themselves, Nike is pulling out all the stops for the first Super Bowl to be played in a northeast cold weather location at New Jersey's Met Life Stadium.
Everything from the uniforms themselves, to sideline gear and the cleats have been redesigned by Nike.
"It's a complete system address," Nike Global Creative Director for Football Todd Van Horne said. "It's designed to protect them from the elements and designed to give them what they need to put forth the best performance possible in Super Bowl 48.
"We've got some new innovations that's designed with a cold layer and protection layer underneath along with some new cleats for better performance on the field and sideline options to keept them warm while they're off the field."
Much like Gore and the 49ers, McCoy is a fan of the uniforms that he undoubtedly wishes he had a chance to be wearing on February 2nd, rather than giving guest commentary about.
"I like them, I'm a big fan of them," McCoy said. "They put everything in perspective of getting the right equipment, the right wear but not being too bulky. I'd give it an A-plus. I'm a big fan"
