Former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb has taken plenty of verbal shots from Shawn Andrews in recent weeks.

First there was Andrews bringing accusations to light that McNabb commanded attention and tormented the University of Arkansas product who was drafted for the sole purpose of keeping the franchise quarterback upright, during an interview with 97.5 The Fanatic's Mike Missanelli

This week Andrews said McNabb was at the center of spreading rumors about his sexuality, among other things, in a sit down interview with Sync magazine

On Wednesday, McNabb responded to Andrews' comments during his radio show on NBC Sports Radio.

“Why would I want to talk bad to others that are out there and then question your sexuality?" McNabb retorted when addressing Andrews' rumor spreading accusations. "Does that make sense to you at all? And why is this coming out now? It’s unbelievable. I just talked to a reporter from Philadelphia, and I’m just like, ‘Are you serious? Why don’t you just talk to the rest of the teammates and find out what’s going on.’”

As far as Andrews' claim that McNabb went out of his way to sabotage his success, the six-time Pro Bowler believes he is looking for a scapegoat.

“Unbelievable, man. Unbelievable," McNabb said. "You know what? When my name gets brought up, it’s a lightning rod. And for me and this whole bullying situation, right now, it’s a sensitive topic, and one that, that I don’t agree with.

“For everything that I’ve been questioned for in Philadelphia," McNabb continued, "and then now you come out and say, you point the finger directly at me, like I’m the one that’s ruined your career?”

Finally there was the claim that McNabb constantly attempted to steal the spotlight from Andrews.

“Really? … " McNabb said. "So see this is the thing, there’s no need to go into it, but it’s unbelievable to me that this would come up from any of the guys, especially that protected me when I’ve done everything I can to protect them and be there for them.”

While at the surface it certainly seems opportunistic for Andrews to make these claims in the shadow of the Richie Incognito-Jonathan Martin controversy that is currently broiling in Miami, his assertions give a possible further glimpse into the locker room culture of the NFL.
