Steve Mason was the star of the game, stopping 33 of 34 Florida shots in a 2-1 Flyers win.

The Flyers were forced to cling to a one-goal lead for the final 20 minutes of play. Behind Steve Mason's 33 saves, they did just that, winning in Craig Berube's debut as head coach by a score of 2-1 over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night at the Wells Fargo Center.
For the first time this season, the Flyers scored more than one goal in the game. In fact, they scored two in a period.
Brayden Schenn opened the scoring at 4:49, pouncing on a loose puck after Jakub Voracek fired a shot wide of the net. It was Schenn's second goal of the season.
Just three minutes later, another shot wide of the net, this time by Sean Couturier, forced Tim Thomas from his crease. Braydon Coburn fired a shot toward the goal and hit the empty net for his first goal of the season.
Thomas left the game with a lower-body injury following the goal and was replaced by Jacob Markstrom.
The Panthers countered late in the second. After firing 12 shots on goal in the second, Florida's 13th shot, a rebound off a blocked shot, was put home by Brad Boyes. That cut the lead to one with just six seconds remaining in the second.
Mason took care of the rest for the Flyers, stopping all nine Panthers shots in the third.
The Flyers improved to 1-3-0 on the season with their first win in the first game under Berube. They return to the ice at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday to face the Phoenix Coyotes.
