Delmon Young Finds A Job
The Rays brought back one of their own. That would be Delmon Young, most recently cut loose by the Phillies. Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports that Young was signed by the Rays. Young was a number one draft pick of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays back in 2003. He just wasn't a first round draft pick – he was THE first pick in the 2003 draft.
The Rays will send Delmon Young to the Montgomery Biscuits, the Rays AA affiliate. It sounds like there are no stated promises that he would be called up by the Rays, but it's likely that September 1 he will be with the big club when rosters expand.
