Cloyd Looks To Continue the Streak

Through all of Tyler Cloyd's struggles, since early July he has been quite good for Lehigh Valley. Particularly his last two starts he's looked like the pitcher who took home International League Pitcher of the Year honors last season. He brings his cutter with him to Citizens Bank Park tonight to face Colorado in Game 2 against a tougher opponent than last night in Jorge De La Rosa who is 12-6 with a 3.22 ERA which is impressive for a pitcher who calls Coors Field his home.

Michael Young returns to action tonight at first base which moves one of last night's heroes John Mayberry to centerfield and Casper Wells to the bench where it appears he belongs. He seems a nice defensive option for late in games but there appears to be little to no bat there. With the Roger Bernadina rumors spinning, one wonders if Wells is around much longer. Not that Bernadina is much of an ugrade.
