After being designated for assignment last week and refusing Triple-A assignment the Phillies cut ties with outfielder Laynce Nix. It was a disappointing two seasons with the Phillies organization for Nix who hit just .211/.270/.331 in his time with the club.
Also two rehab notes: Roy Halladay takes a huge step and will pitch this Thursday for the Gulf Coast League Phillies. Jonathan Pettibone will also pitch Thursday for Double-A Reading.
