The Phillies gave away Game 1. They can quickly amend for it in Game 2.

A stretch of excellent games in order for the Phillies against the Braves and Nationals didn't carry over to Saturday's opener. Now the Phillies (46-48) return to the field to once again face the White Sox (37-53).

John Lannan (2-3, 4.23 ERA) gets the start for the Phillies. Lannan pitched eight shutout innings against the Nationals in his last start allowing four hits. Lannan has faced the White Sox once in his career. In 2010, he allowed five runs on 11 hits in four innings to the White Sox. At Citizens Bank Park, he is 3-6 with a 5.13 ERA.

The Phillies will face left-hander Hector Santiago (3-5, 3.49 ERA). Santiago allowed two runs in 5 1/3 innings against the Cubs in his last start, taking a no-decision. Santiago is making his first career start against the Phillies and at Citizens Bank Park.

Game Notes:

  • The Phillies need to win each of the final two games to claim a .500 record at the All-Star Break.
