Cloyd, Peralta Rematch As Phils Look To Climb Above .500

Cloydmarlins

The Phillies (30-30) are finally at .500 for the first time since April when they were 6-6. Cole Hamels won his second game of the year, his first since April 28th, yesterday after going a month without a win. Hamels went 7 innings and allowed a run on four hits while striking out 11. A three-run Ryan Howard triple and a Dom Brown home run led the Phils offense.

With their three-game sweep over the Marlins the Phillies will embark on a 10-game road trip beginning in Milwaukee for a four-game set. Tonight Tyler Cloyd (1-2, 4.76 ERA) will take on Wily Peralta (4-6, 5.94 ERA) in a rematch of last Saturday's game in tonight's series opener.

Cloyd's last time out proved an improvement from his outing in Boston. The right hander went 7 innings allowing three runs, two of which were earned, on eight hits while walking one. Despite a winning pitcher's line, Cloyd was handed the loss and was left hanging in a close game. Cloyd has allowed 10 earned runs in his last three starts and has received his 1-2 decisions in that stretch. Tonight will be Cloyd's second career start against Milwaukee.

Wily Peralta is coming off of a win in Philadelphia last Saturday. The right hander also went seven innings and allowed two earned runs on eight hits. Peralta, who had lost four straight games pulled out a win in Philly and is looking to do so again, but this time at home. In his last three starts, Peralta is 1-2 with a 5.93 ERA and he is looking to improve once more. Tonight will be Peralta's second career start against Philadelphia.
