Brad Lidge To Retire As A Philadelphia Phillie

We will never forget this image.  Brad Lidge falling down to his knees and throwing up his arms in the air.  Carlos Ruiz running up to him for an embrace.  Ryan Howard knocking them over.  The Phillies were World Champions of Baseball.

The perfect closer from that season, Brad Lidge, whose 48 for 48 dominance was a big reason why the Phillies won, plans to retire as a Philadelphia Phillie, reports Todd Zolecki of MLB.com.  Lidge will be honored on Thursday, August 1 when the Phillies face the San Francisco Giants at 7:05 p.m. 

I saved my authentic 2008 alternate Phillies jersey in a safe spot.  That may be the first time I wear it since Lidge departed.

In Lidge's career, he pitched for the Astros, Phillies, and Washington Nationals.  He last pitched last season for the Nationals but was released in June.
