2012's Hall of Fame vote was one of the more publicly contested votes in recent memory. This year's class has one major theme surrounding it: the steroid era. Many big names who dominated the 1990s and early 2000s hit the ballot for the very first time. Many of those names have been clouded in suspicion, allegation, and controversy. This year's ballot featured seven former Phillies but perhaps only Curt Schilling and Kenny Lofton had an outside shot, while Dale Murphy hangs around but never seems to get elected.
