Preview:

In a rematch of the 2002 NFC Championship game (yea, seriously), the Eagles (3-9) have traveled down to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers. The Eagles have announced that Nick Foles will be the starting QB for the rest of the season. This should give the team a nice evaluation of their QB situation for next season. Other than that, there really is not much to look forward to in this game. The Bucs are still in the playoff hunt, while the Eagles are limping their way into the next draft.

As I discussed in my last piece, there have been taunts for the Eagles to lose their final four games in order to secure the best possible draft pick. While I still feel this is the wrong decision, it will be interesting to see just how much effort some guys put into today's game. It is depressing to think that professional athletes would sacrifice their opportunity to play in the NFL just because their team has no chance at the playoffs. It's true, though. There are guys that will not show up in this game today, for the rest of the season, in fact. Losing to improve your draft pick is preposterous to me, but I'm getting off track.

This game will be nothing special. I completely expect the Bucs to run away with this one, handing the Eagles their 10th loss of the season. There is no reason for me to believe that the Eagles won't lose out. All four games are against playoff contenders, and frankly, I can't see them competing in any of them. I would be perfectly fine with a 3-13 finish and a high draft pick, so long as it is not done the wrong way.
