Let's face it. The Phillies are red hot. With yesterday's win the Phillies inched closer to the Wild Card. Cliff Lee fell behind in the sixth, but Jimmy Rollins and his red-hot bat brought the Phils back and helped them overcome the Marlins. After a six-game homestand sweep against the Rockies and Marlins, the Phillies concluded one of their best in franchise history.
Tonight the Phillies are hoping to keep the streak alive as
they start a four game series in Houston. Tyler Cloyd (4.24, 1-1) will take the mound against
Lucas Harrell (3.83, 10-9). Cloyd, a recent addition to the Phils' rotation, has helped this team climb above .500 as of late. He hopes to take them closer to the Wild Card as well. Lucas Harrell is having the best season of his career as he leads the Astros in wins and ERA.
The Phillies won't gain any ground unless some bad luck falls on their rivals in the race.
Tonight, the Dodgers and Josh Beckett (5.05, 6-13) will take on Lance Lynn (4.04-14-7)
and the Cardinals. Tomorrow afternoon, Chris Rusin (5.73, 0-2) and the Cubs take
on James McDonald (3.93, 12-7) and sliding Pirates. The Phils are praying for a Cards and
Pirates loss to help them push closer and closer to winning the Wild Card spot.
Everyone will be on the edge of their seat as we watch these
games unfold, and hope for a continuation in the Phillies red-hot winning
streak.
