Roy Halladay: Physically I’m 100%; Phillies’ Rebuild Will Be Quick

Roy Halladay was on MLB Network Radio this morning on "Power Alley" with Jody McDonald and Fred McGriff to promote discoverboating.com, but talked plenty of baseball, including how he is feeling after his trip to the disabled list.

The biggest news is that Halladay says he is fully healthy once again.  His seven inning scoreless performance could be an indication.  For Halladay, it's a matter of working out mechanics after the injury:

"Physically I'm 100%.  I have some mechanical things I'm trying to iron out.  Wen you're out there and hurt your body does some things to alleviate the pain…I'm trying to do some things I normally do…it's taking a while to get myself mechanically back to where I want to be."

Halladay showed his unselfish self.  He discussed things that he can control, such as preparation for the game and showed he does not mind who wins as long as the team does.

"I set personal goals as far as preparation and work habits…getting the first strike…those are things I can can control…the ERA, the wins…ultimate that's something you don't have a say in.  Whether I get the win or someone else does…those are the goals I have….Ultimately it becomes about winning a championship.  That's the driving force."

Is Halladay discouraged by the moves the Phillies made at the trade deadline this year?

"The biggest reason coming to the Phillies is winning the World Series…I feel like the organization is still committed to winning.  This is not the  place you're going to have a five, six year rebuild."

As for Shane Victorino, Joe Blanton, and Hunter Pence: he will miss them, but he still feels the Phillies are going to be winners.

"They were big parts of the team.  You come over to a place like this and they have great players and you have some of the success…to see those players go away is tough.  Ruben Amaro is a terrific GM, he's always around communicating with the players…I have a lot of confidence we are going to get there."

One Halladay was pretty upset.

"My son's the biggest Hunter Pence fan in the world.  He was crushed".
