It has been reported by multiple sources that Roy Halladay is progressing very well, and should begin a rehab assignment during the All-Star break. He has been throwing off the mound, and will throw a bullpen session, reports Matt Gelb of the Inquirer. GM Ruben Amaro Jr. is looking to set up simulated games for Halladay as well. They'll decide what to do after his bullpen session.
With Ryan Howard coming back by as early as this weekend, having Roy Halladay back as well should greatly change things for this Phillies team. If he pitches the way he has during his entire Phillies career, the Phillies' starting rotation will once again look as ferocious as it once did last season.
